Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe was born in South London, England into a family of mixed blood. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mother is English. She was raised on a council estate south of London. In the ages of fourteen, she was enrolled at The Brit School. She went to an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in which she earned a BA in acting. While at school she appeared in numerous stage plays, including the King Henry V's Princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. She's appeared as an actor in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following that she was cast as Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she was a part of Trexx as Ollie as well as six episodes of Flipside. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe appeared in the comedic How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). The credits she has in her theatre work are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.

Ashley Leggat, a twice Gemini nominated actress, was born into a large family living in Hamilton, Ontario.
